"CONCORD, N.H. —
Lawmakers in Concord are calling for more data to be made public about hate crimes and hate incidents in New Hampshire.
The effort comes as state representatives deal with repeated incidents of targeted harassment.
State Rep. Jonah Wheeler, D-Peterborough, is one of several state representatives who recently received racist, harassing letters in the mail.
""I think when you run for office, you understand that you're a kind of a punching bag for people, both good and bad,"" Wheeler said. ""You're a punching bag for the constituents who disagree with you and for those that agree, but just as a human being, it hurts, obviously hurts to get a letter with violent material in it.""
