Peterborough incumbents advance to general election for NH House

Sep 11, 2024

Incumbent Jonah Wheeler topped the votes in Tuesday’s three-way Democratic primary for two seats representing Peterborough and Sharon in the N.H. House’s Hillsborough County District 33.

Wheeler's unofficial vote total was 967 votes, followed by incumbent Peter R. Leishman with 936. Out of the running was Ivy Vann with 666 votes. Vann served four terms in the House before finishing third to Leishman and Wheeler in the primary two years ago. All three candidates are from Peterborough.

Wheeler and Leishman will go up against Republican Kimberly Thomas, also of Peterborough, on Nov. 5. Thomas ran unopposed in Tuesday’s party primary. Thomas was the sole Republican to file, and information about write-in votes for the second Republican nomination for the seat was not immediately available Wednesday.
